Advanced Sound Engineering flyer_423x600

The VIP Lounge runs an Advanced Engineering Course. The course runs for six weeks, one evening per week.

If you have a basic understanding of recording and mixing and have access to a recording set up (even if it’s just your laptop) and you want to expand your knowledge and give your recordings and mixes that professional touch, this is for you. Whether you are a home based artist or a music tech student at college you will find this course invaluable.

The emphasis is on practical, hands on learning. We go through the process of recording a band from a backing track and vocals through to mixing. Dare Mason oversees the process but all students will have a chance to learn mic techniques, production “tricks” and mixing skills. The recordings take place at the VIP Lounge using Cubase but this is not a programming course. Techniques will be applicable to all platforms. For instance, you will learn how to place a vocal in a mix, how to use delay creatively, when to compress and when not to and the judicious use of eq. Students are encouraged to take home files of the recording to work on in their own time.

Numbers are strictly limited to four students and the course takes place once it is full.

The cost of the course is £180. If you would like to reserve a place on the next course just send an eamil or give us a call.
